The trip to Lake Tahoe with Kandhavel and Ananthu family (with kutty aradhana) is another enticing moment to me. All we started is with collecting the needy to setup a boot camp and geared up towards Lake Tahoe. The beach at the lake is dazzling, and the view of the setting sun made us forget that the next hour will be into trouble.
As the evening sun started to dip slowly, we rushed on the curvy mountains for nearly 45 minutes and reached when the dark gobbled the forest slowly. Slowly we sneeked into the camping group. Oops, at around 7:15PM, we started fitting the tent, lit fire, installed the cooking stove for hot dosas, roasted grilled chicken and corns.
Ananthu kept his watch ticking for 11:30PM and he craddled to move out of the camp to the downtown (hating that aradhana would not like and may trouble in the night).
I opened a beer to make sure I am not losing the crux on why I came to this pitch dark dense-with-pine forest, where some friendly creatures like bears or jackal "could" come wanting for food.. the time went on with fun and laughter throughout the night, and crawled into the tent for a dreamy and fearing night (who knows what comes in the middle of the night).
Morning was more than refreshing, when I woke up it already past 8AM. I was welcomed with a hot coffee, and after refreshments, again with dosas.. (egg-dosas). We then later walked over the lake near the camp ground. The lake was crystal clean and clear, and other campers sped flying boats on the silent lake.
The day had more to do with returning home, and wish to come back to this place again. Certainly this trip is not the complete one, as I need to come again once Sharmila is back from vacation.
